OneDay Signs on as “Official Storyteller” for Dream Flights

Dream Flights, a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring America’s veterans and seniors living in retirement and long-term care communities with free Dream Flights, is pleased to announce OneDay, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company best known for video storytelling within senior living communities, is returning as its Official Storyteller. The 2022 Dream Flights Tour began in Houston on April 2; for the next 10 months, its fleet of six Stearmans will land in hundreds of U.S. cities to honor nearly 1,000 seniors and veterans with flights of a lifetime.

"Our mission is to honor the service, sacrifice and stories of America's senior veterans by providing them with a life-changing experience: an open-air flight in the cockpit of one of our restored World War II-era biplanes," said Darryl Fisher, founder and president of Dream Flights.

OneDay signed on as Dream Flights’ Official Storyteller during the 2021 Operation September Freedom tour. The partnership allows Dream Flights to record and preserve for posterity our Dream Flyers’ stories.

"Our vision, at OneDay, is a world where no one's story goes untold, and we are incredibly honored to partner again with Dream Flights as the Official Storyteller and capture and preserve the important stories and memories of seniors and veterans," said Clint Lee, co-founder and CEO of OneDay. "There’s no greater purpose of ours than storytelling. We hope to honor our U.S. veterans and the contribution and sacrifice they’ve made to our country while preserving their legacy and sharing their piece of history with future generations."

Dream Flights pilots, many of whom fly for major airlines and are active duty or retired military veterans themselves, volunteer their time to fly veterans in the country’s largest fleet of restored Stearman bi-planes. During a 20-minute Dream Flight, veterans experience the freedom and exhilaration of soaring 1,000 feet in the air in an iconic, open-cockpit biplane.

Dream Flights has provided free flights for more than 5,000 veterans and seniors living in long-term care communities since 2011. Last year in 2021, Dream Flights completed a 61-day, 47-state mission, called Operation September Freedom to honor 891 members of this ‘greatest generation’ for their service and sacrifice. According to Fisher, this historic tour was our nation’s last opportunity to actively recognize and honor the men and women whose sacrifice led to the Sept. 2, 1945 signing of the Japanese Instrument of Surrender, which effectively ended WWII.

About Dream Flights

Non-profit Dream Flights’ mission is giving back to those who gave. From its founding in 2011 to today, the organization has honored more than 5,000 veterans and seniors with free Dream Flights. Each is made possible through the generous donations of corporate sponsors including SportClips, Veterans United Home Loans, American Airlines, Discovery Senior Living, American Healthcare Association/National Center for Assisted Living, Argentum, and individuals and businesses from across the country. The flights are piloted by professional, volunteer pilots, many of whom are retired military aviators. Follow @DreamFlightsOrg on social media and visit www.dreamflights.org.
